This lecture series is titled ‘The Index of Influence’ and is dedicated to Mark Baines.
Mark taught at the School for over 30 years and influenced countless students and staff as well as the school and in turn architecture itself, throughout his career. Through his thoughtful, quiet and sensitive approach to teaching and life he was able to encourage students to take time to think and design architecture which was rooted in reality.
This lecture series draws on Mark’s extensive influence, moving from the local to the global, from the micro to the macro always rooted in an ethical architectural response to context
